The Council Creek Regional Trail (CCRT) will create commuting and recreational opportunities to bike, hike, roll and stroll.  To make sure the trail best serves all community members, our planning process has included:

  • Elected Officials Steering Committee comprised of representatives from the cities along the corridor and interested agencies
  • English and Spanish focus groups with community members who identify as Black, Indigenous or people of color
  • Partnerships with community-based organizations including Centro Cultural and Community Action
  • A Stakeholder Advisory Committee with members representing underserved communities and adjacent property owners
  • Project materials in Spanish, Spanish translators at project events and translators for ASL and other languages available upon advanced request at no charge.

Based on community input, we are going to build a trail that:

  • Gives more options to live an active lifestyle
  • Feels safe for people of all ages and abilities
  • Creates a welcoming place for all
  • Embraces the cultural and economic diversity of the surrounding community
  • Is environmentally friendly
A timeline for the project which started in 2021 through 2029 trail opening.

Based on ease of construction and avoiding environmentally sensitive areas, our advisory committees decided that the trail will be constructed in place of the railroad tracks for most of the six miles. Additional assessment is required to determine how the trail will cross Dairy Creek.
